Good morning lovelies! Happy Monday and helloooo March! Since Marli’s teething last week put a hold on everything, I wanted to recap my week (and weekend) and share what’s been happening lately…
First up: My Marli. Poor thing was SUPER needy and needed a lot of TLC so we were basically cuddling EVERY second. Lots of tears, lots of drool, and a whole lotta hugs from her mama. This is pretty much how she slept…when she would sleep. Haha
Exhaustion and a minor backache prevented me from working out at my usual level of intensity, but I was able to get in a couple sessions before the race last Saturday. This was on Monday after a kickbutt workout with the oh-so-fun plyometrics. I had 2nd and 3rd day soreness from all those muscles I never knew could get so damn sore! Check out the quad action going on there ๐ My legs are by far the hardest body part for me to “lean out,” but I am pretty happy with my progress so far. And, this was my FAVORITE dish of the week: Ahi Tuna salad from Cheesecake Factory. So so good!
Saturday morning was the big day! We completed the 10k race to kickoff the start of the Houston Rodeo (it’s kind of a big deal here!) and let me just say (1) the run was a lot tougher than I expected and (2) HOLY MOLY! I am SO SO SO proud of these RAWRs for finishing ๐ This year, they changed the route to include some hills (boo!) I wasn’t expecting (since I’ve ran this race before) AND the weather was so much warmer and humid than expected. We had been training in 30-50 degree weather, which is ideal for me, but come race day, it was a humid and muggy 70-something outside. I won’t even lie – I had a “What the heck was I thinking” moment at mile 2 and was seriously regretting signing up. Haha Still, I pushed on and I did it! I finished in 1 hr 07 minutes ๐
On Saturday night, I went out for an impromptu GNO to the Houston Rodeo Cookoff. It was absolutely wonderful to see these two gals and catch up….and talk about weddings! My girlfriend is getting married Labor Day weekend so don’t be surprised if you start seeing some wedding posts from me. ๐ I can’t wait to take Marli to the carnival!
And, lastly, this happened yesterday. I can’t even take the cuteness. I snapped a few quick shots of Marli and her cousin Lydia to include in their birthday invitations. Since the girls are ONE day apart, it was only fitting for them to celebrate their 1st birthday together ๐ We are planning a nautical theme and I can’t wait to start completing some DIY projects for the party.
RAWRs. what highlights did you have this past weekend?

So glad she’s feeling better and great job on the run!
Whoowoo! Awesome job girl! So proud of you and the ladies for finishing. A great accomplishment ๐
Well congrats to you for pulling it off and getting it done! Gosh I wish i had some of your energy. I am thinking of doing ombre hair too in the spring. Waiting for my hair to grow in a wee bit.
